It was cheap for Conor McGregor. After the Irishman spent Thursday night (05) detained at the New York Police Department, he is free. After leaving the police station in handcuffs, on Friday afternoon, the fighter was taken to the Brooklyn Criminal Courthouse where he had his first meeting with the judge responsible for the case. Conor had a restraining order issued against Michael chiesa, RayBorg, Ozzy Arias and Ricardo Chico, who were in the van attacked by the fighter. In addition, McGregor paid US$50, around R$168,5 at the current rate, in bail and will face charges for vandalism while free. He did not need to hand over his passport to the court and can return to Ireland at any time.

On the other hand, McGregor must attend the new hearing scheduled for June 14, in New York (USA).

Understand the case

The confusion began last Wednesday when Khabib Nurmagomedov, who will be in the main fight of UFC 223, caught McGregor's friend, Artem Lobov, at the hotel where the athletes are staying. The Irishman did not like the Russian's attitude and accompanied by 10 partners, including Lobov, invaded the Barclays Center, where the UFC 223 Media Day would be held. Looking for Khabib, McGregor and his associates threw several targets at the van carrying the athletes (see video below). In the confusion, Michael chiesa and Ray Borg, who would fight at UFC 223 and were in the vehicle, were injured and removed from the show.

Immediately, the New York Police issued an arrest warrant for McGregor, who surrendered to authorities in the early hours of Friday (06).
