Undefeated in MMA since 2010, Bibiano Fernandes added another big victory in his career in the last edition of the ONE Championship, which took place in Bangkok, Thailand. The man from Manaus beat Martin Nguyen, champion of two categories of the event (featherweight and lightweight). The fight was eventful, and despite the split decision victory, Bibiano left no doubt about the result.

“It was a good fight, well studied. The boy has a heavy hand, he was breaking everyone, but I managed to win, another victory to count”, analyzed Bibiano.

Martin Nguyen showed that he managed to accumulate two ONE Championship belts for nothing, the athlete was aggressive in the cage, and managed to open a deep cut on the Brazilian's face. During the fight, the Australian even tried to open Bibiano's cut using his glove, however, the man from Manaus, experienced and calm in the cage, revealed that this did not affect his performance:

“It didn't hinder me in the fight, it opened up, but I continued to put pressure on the fight. I stayed calm, kept my head on straight, and just became more motivated to keep fighting.”

The Australian was the tenth consecutive opponent defeated by Bibiano in ONE Championship. Hired by the event since 2012, Bibiano has already defended the bantamweight title on 7 occasions, apart from the duel in which he unified the category belt against Soo Chul Kim. The organization’s main fighter, the Brazilian who currently resides in Canada spoke about the fact that he “cleaned” the category at the event:

“I think that at ONE I have already completed all the remaining challenges. In this last challenge I faced a great fight, a boy who was champion of two categories in the event. I think everyone expected him to knock me out, but luckily it didn't happen the way they wanted. I won, I managed to improve my standing skills, my boxing, Muay Thai and my ground skills. I think I have already completed all the challenges within ONE Championship”, concluded Bibiano.
