Just one week after UFC London, which featured the knockout of the Russian heavyweight Alexander Volkov about Brazilian Fabricio Werdum, the O2 Arena will be the stage for another super night of fights this Saturday. It's Cage Warriors, the oldest MMA event in the United Kingdom, which in its 92nd edition will feature no less than three title fights.

The first of these will put two local fighters on a collision course, Sam Creasey and Nathan Greyson, who seek to occupy the position of flyweight champion, which is currently vacant. Another interesting fight will be the heavyweight title defense involving Italian Mauro “The Hammer” Cerilli, current champion, against Karl Moore, the Northern Irish challenger. Finally, English Nathaniel Wood he will be fighting in his second fight since winning the bantamweight belt, and will face the experienced Italian Luca Iovine.

Sam Creasey x Nathan Greyson

PUBLICITY:

In the duel between Englishmen for the flyweight belt, which, for now, is vacant, the Bedfordshire fighter, Sam Creasey, will enter the octagon as favorite against Nathan Greyson.

Creasey has already proven to be an extremely versatile fighter, and while he has a good repertoire of strikes when it comes to striking, he is also very efficient on the ground, as evidenced by his record of five victories by submission since his debut in Cage Warriors , in 2014. However, it was the first-round victories in his last two fights, against the Frenchman Iuri Bejenari, and the Romanian Paul Marinque, that qualified him to fight for the title.

Nathan Greyson, on the other hand, is a natural knockout artist, and this is how he achieved all five victories in his career. He will do everything he can to keep the fight going, but if he is knocked down, he may find it difficult.

Mauro Cerilli x Karl Moore

The second title fight of the night presents an unusual situation, to say the least, in which the favorite is the challenger, and not the current champion.

The explanation lies in the fact that Moore holds the light heavyweight belt. He moved up a category to try to unify the two titles, equaling a feat that to this day only Conor McGregor managed to accomplish. The Northern Irishman's strategy will probably be to exploit his greater mobility, as a way of trying to neutralize the opponent's physical strength.

The task, however, will not be the simplest. Italian Cerilli has not lost a fight since 2015, and has won four consecutive victories, three by knockout and one by decision. A Cage Warriors athlete since 2012, “The Hammer”, as he is called by fans, has a respectable record of 11 wins and 2 losses. The nickname needs no further explanation, the giant Cerilli has one of the heaviest arms in the category, and if he manages to land a good blow, he can destroy his opponent's ambitious plans.

Quotas of Oddsshark.com: (R$ 3,50) Mauro Cerilli x Karl Moore ($ 1,30)

Nathaniel Wood x Luca Iovine

In the main fight of the night, the expectation is that the bantamweight belt will remain with the Englishman Nathaniel Wood, who will make his second defense. In the first, he starred in one of the best fights of recent times against Welshman Josh Reed, in which he sought a knockout after being knocked down several times.

When asked about his expectations for the fight against Iovine, he made no bones about being modest: “I believe I'm better in all areas, I don't see myself having any problems with him in any aspect of the fight.”, he told the press, not without first saying that he considered his opponent a good fighter, but without that extra something.

Bravado aside, the fact is that the Italian has an interesting record, with 12 wins and one defeat, and qualified for the title fight after winning in his last eight engagements.
