It was literally at the last second, but the Scotsman Paul Craig The British fans enjoyed the preliminary card of UFC Fight Night London, an event held this Saturday afternoon (17), in the English capital. The home fighter suffered a harsh punishment from Magomed Ankalayev during the three rounds and was about to be defeated by the judges' decision. In the final seconds he received several punches on the ground, but he managed to land a tight triangle and force his rival to give up in the last moment of the fight (watch the video below). The finish at 4m59s was the latest in Ultimate history.

“I thought I was getting beaten for three rounds and I wanted to try something different. It could be my last fight under my UFC contract, so we were training a lot. I wanted to renew my contract, I knew he was dangerous and I trained jiu-jitsu. I needed to win! I always have the submission in my head, I know it's difficult, but it can save a fight. He was tired. The fight
Ankalaev dominated the fight from the opening moments. The Russian athlete connected his best blows while standing and took down the Scotsman with some ease, from where he unleashed several blows from above. The Russian's dominance was repeated in the second round and he took the lead on the judges' scorecards.
At the beginning of the third round, Ankalaev punished Craig hard and came close to ending the fight. Craig went to the ground due to the blows received. But, when the Russian's victory seemed like a matter of time, the Scot climbed his guard, closed the triangle and Ankalaev retired with one second remaining.
