the news that Fabricio Werdum would be negotiating with the UFC is getting stronger every day. The gaucho, who is currently part of the Strikeforce fighter roster, despite not confirming that he is close to an agreement with the biggest event in the world, is already showing some signs of his return to the Octagon.
Through his Twitter account, “Vai Cavalo”, as he is known, has already chosen his opponent and launched a challenge:
"Brendan Schaub, I’m ready for you, anytime, anywhere!”
The Brazilian's idea has already had repercussions on American soil. In an interview with ESPN, Schaub liked the proposal and accepted the challenge.
“I'm back to training, I'm working on some things. I think a fight between me and Fabricio Werdum it would be something fans would want to see. There are a good number of fights out there for me, but this is one that comes to mind right now”, commented Schaub.
Both come from defeat. Werdum was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Strikeforce heavyweight tournament by alistair overeem, when he saw his campaign of three consecutive victories- one of them over the myth Fedor Emelianenko – crumble. The American fighter was knocked out by Rodrigo Minotauro at UFC Rio, a result that broke a streak of four victories, the last of which was over Mirko Cro Cop.
