Ortega defeats Aldo and takes the lead in the UFC featherweight rankings

After victory over Frankie Edgar at UFC 222, Brian Ortega is the leader in the rankings in the featherweight division; Ketlen Vieira rises to 4th position among women

The victory over Frankie Edgar at UFC 222, an event held last Saturday (03), was worth a lot for Brian ortega. In addition to securing the position of next challenger for the featherweight belt (up to 65,8 kg.), the North American also defeated José Aldo and rose to the top of the division rankings. Before last weekend, 'T-City' was in third place, but surpassed, in addition to the Brazilian, Edgar himself.

Among the Brazilians at UFC 222, the highlight was the rise of Ketlen Scallop. The Brazilian surpassed Germain de Randamie and reached fourth place in the rankings, getting closer to the chance to fight for the belt.

Other changes to the rankings relating to UFC 222 occurred in the heavyweight and lightweight divisions. Andrei Arlovski returned to the top 10 of the 120kg division with the triumph over Stefan struve, which fell to 12th place. Now the newcomer Alexander Hernandez appeared in 13th position in the lightweight rankings after knocking out Beneil Dariush.
