Injury takes Pedro Rizzo out of fight against Tim Sylvia

Pedro Rizzo's return to fighting has been postponed. The Brazilian heavyweight was scheduled to face North American Tim Sylvia at Pro Elite, in a duel between former UFC champions, but a triceps injury forced the Brazilian to cancel the fight.

This Monday, Rizzo used his Twitter to lament the injury and apologize to the organization of the event and his opponent.

“Unfortunately, I had a partial rupture of the triceps tendon in my left arm. I would like to apologize to Pro Elite and Tim Sylvia for not being able to be in the ring on November 5th”, said the Brazilian. “I was in top form and I'm really frustrated with what happened. I hope to recover as quickly as possible so I can fight again, as my happiness is still being in the ring”, added Pedro.

PUBLICITY:

Pedro Rizzo has a good streak of three consecutive wins, but hasn't fought since July 2010, when he knocked out veteran Ken Shamrock.
