In an interview with the North American website “FloCombat”, Edgar responded to the provocations of his next opponent and said that the answer was that he would finish off Holloway.
“I know he is a very tough competitor and he is the champion. He's been proving his worth as a champion and that will be even better for me when I get his belt. If he wants answers, he's coming to the right guy. The answer is that I will end you, Holloway. “I see people on the internet saying that he will beat me because he beat Aldo, who beat me. But math in MMA doesn't work like that. I have a lot of confidence in my abilities and I believe I'm improving with each fight. I think I showed that in my last fight. I’m ready to get in there and have a definitive fight with Holloway and I think he’s the perfect guy for that”, he pondered.
