Rose Volante makes history and wins Brazil's first world boxing title

Brazilian boxing is celebrating! Boxer Rose Volante, 35 years old, is the first woman in the country to win the world title by the World Boxing Organization (WBO). The fighter from São Paulo defeated Argentine Brenda Carvajal, on points, and made her name in history by holding the belt in the lightweight division. The fight took place this Saturday (23), in Jujuy, Argentina.

Rose took her rival to the canvas on two occasions, but even so she did not win the contest unanimously, as one of the side judges scored a clash (95×93, 94×93, 94×94).
