The triumphant return of Glover Teixeira, who knocked out Misha Cirkunov in the first round of UFC Winnipeg last Saturday (16), he opened the eyes of the light heavyweight division. And Jimi Manuwa, one of the main athletes in the category, has already challenged the Brazilian, even with a specific date in mind: March 17th of next year, when Ultimate returns to London, “Poster Boy's” hometown.

However, Glover doesn't seem very excited about the possibility of facing an athlete coming off a defeat. Manuwa was brutally knocked out by Volkan oezdemir in his last fight at UFC 214 in July this year.
“Of course Manuwa wants to face me. He lost his last fight. Before this victory, I had also lost my last fight, so I had to take on a guy who was behind me in the rankings, who was also coming off a defeat. So I risked a lot of things, but I lost that fight, so I had to win again. Now, I'm third in the world, so I don't know… Let's see with the UFC, with my manager. If they think this fight makes sense, then let's go. I fight with anyone and anywhere”, highlighted the Brazilian, in an interview with the North American website MMA Junkie.
Despite not paying much attention to Manuwa's challenge, Glover was bothered by the fact that the Englishman, coming off a defeat, had asked to fight at home. The jiu-jitsu black belt would think it would be fairer for a possible duel to take place in Brazil.
“Is Jimi Manuwa, at this moment, in a position to ask to fight me in London? Why doesn't he face me in Brazil? Or in Connecticut (where he lives, in the United States)? Or even New York? I don't know. I'm from those places. He wants to fight in his backyard and I have to travel to London to face him? Nothing against London, but come on man, give me some credit. It would be like me challenging Cormier after my last defeat”, he compared.
