McKenzie: “If I lose to Vagner Rocha I don’t deserve to be at a high level”

American faces Brazilian, this Saturday, at UFC Fight Night 25

North American Cody McKenzie faces Brazilian Vagner Rocha at UFC Fight Night 25, an event that takes place this Saturday (17), in New Orleans, United States. Coming from defeat when he was surpassed by Yves Edwards, in January this year, the participant in the twelfth edition of The Ultimate Fighter, the UFC reality show, showed excessive physical exhaustion in his last performance and revealed that he had changed his preparation to face the Brazilian athlete.

“I'm going to go in there and fight at the same pace I've always fought, but this time I'm not going to give up,” said McKenzie, in an interview with MMA Junkie radio. “I feel like the two fights I lost I was winning, until I couldn't breathe anymore. Fifteen minutes isn't a long time, so you won't see me like that”, added the American, who analyzed the confrontation against Vagner Rocha.

“I don’t see anything special about Vagner Rocha. I see him like any opponent… I will beat him and I am quite confident,” he said. The confidence is so much that the North American stated that if he loses to the Brazilian, he doesn't deserve to be in the top four of UFC fighters.

“I'm just thinking about the fight. One guy wins and another guy loses, but I always go in thinking about winning. Certainly, (there is) pressure for those who come from a defeat. Like I said, if I lose two in a row, I don't deserve to be at a high level. I should go back to the smaller shows and work my way back”, he analyzed. “But I'm definitely not thinking about losing. I’m going to destroy this guy”, concluded McKenzie
