The controversy returns Michael Bisping to the octagon, less than a month after losing to Georges St Pierre, gave him, in addition to the crushing defeat to Kelvin Gastelum at UFC China, a two-month medical suspension. The Englishman is banned from fighting professionally for the next 60 days following the brutal knockout suffered at the hands of the North American in the main fight of last Saturday's event (25). KG, in turn, only suffered a mandatory one-week suspension.

Ultimate was heavily criticized, including by its own employees, such as commentator Joe Rogan, for allowing Bisping to take action three weeks after taking a knockdown and being submitted and erased by GSP in the historic UFC 217. The knockout in the first round leaves the Englishman out of action for 60 days and unable to train for the next 45 days. The suspension, however, does not take it out of UFC London, which will be played on March 17, 2018, just over three months from now.
However, four other fighters who performed at UFC China received even more extensive hooks. Gina Mazany, who won Yanan Wu in the decision, he will be out for the next six months due to a fracture in the big toe of his left foot. If the fighter presents tests that prove the problem has been cured, the suspension will be reduced to one month. Identical suspensions led song yadong (submitted Bharat Kandare, but suffered an injury to his right foot), Zak Ottow (defeated by li jingliang and with an injury to his right hand) and Shamil Abdurakhimov (knocked out Chase sherman, but had a problem with the thumb on his left hand).
