Anderson Silva has two “MMA Oscar” nominations

The English magazine Fighters Only Magazine announced this Saturday the finalists of the MMA Awards, known as the “Oscar” of the sport, which rewards athletes, coaches and managers who stood out in the sport during the year.

Brazil has nine nominations for the award, with emphasis on Anderson Silva, which competes in two categories. The “Spider” is in the fight for the knockout this year, due to the front stomp applied to Vitor belfort at UFC 126, in addition to being in the running for the show's most important award: fighter of the year.

In addition to Anderson, other Brazilian athletes are competing for important awards: Cesar Gracie as coach of the year, Lyoto Machida e Patricky Pitbull for the best knockout, Vinny Pezão for the best submission, Jose aldo for the best fight and Rodrigo Minotauro at the turn of the year.
