A few months after leaving the UFC for Bellator, Gegard Mousasi finally made his debut in his new home, wresting a unanimous decision from the organization's former middleweight champion Alexander Shlemenko. Despite the victory, the Armenian was criticized for his performance, with some fans and experts even believing that the Russian won the duel over the Armenian.

In an interview with the North American program The MMA Hour, Mousasi was rude when responding to critics and recalled that he suffered from an eye problem at the beginning of the fight and played almost three entire rounds seeing only his left eye.

PUBLICITY:

“I’m not happy with my performance, of course not. But he punched me right in the eye in the first minute, so I fought on instinct, just trying to survive and stay in the fight. I fought with just one eye for almost three rounds, so it wasn't the performance I wanted. But a win is a win. Critics can c…I have something really big for them c…”, declared the Armenian sharply.

Mousasi also said he was not completely recovered from the duel and revealed that he was having trouble even walking on the street, also complaining about his critics.

PUBLICITY:

“On Sunday, I was walking around New York staggering, I couldn’t even walk straight. I fought three hard rounds. I don't know what people are talking about. Maybe the critics should get in the cage and fight. They sit in front of their computers, eating potatoes and having their opinions, but let them go,” she complained.
