Corinthians athlete Anderson Silva doesn't want fan rivalry at UFC Rio

The Brazilian Anderson Silva will defend his middleweight belt against the Japanese Yushin Okami in the main fight of UFC Rio, an event that takes place next Saturday, in the capital of Rio de Janeiro. The fight will be Anderson's debut as a representative of Corinthians, a club that signed a sponsorship contract with the fighter at the beginning of this month, but acting in Rio de Janeiro, the Tupiniquim athlete does not think about football rivalry and wants the support of all cheered on in their fight.

“Representing Corinthians is a new phase. The UFC gives us an opportunity to unite fans,” said Anderson. “Inter is sponsoring Minotauro, other clubs already have their interests, and maybe we can unite the fans so that everyone can watch MMA together. We are breaking a very big barrier and I hope the fans understand”, added the champion.

UFC Rio will be held next Saturday (27), at the HSBC Arena, in the capital of Rio de Janeiro, and will feature 11 Brazilians in action. Check out the full fight program of the show below:, which will be broadcast on the Combate channel from 18pm and on RedeTV from 22pm:
