Last Tuesday, Holly holm published a video in which he responded to possible criticisms from his possible future opponent Chris Cyborg. The Brazilian had complained about USADA, which had carried out three tests on her in the last month and wondered if Holm was being tested with the same intensity. The former champion declared that she was tested more than Cris in 2017, but the current owner of the featherweight belt said that her rebuke was not with the North American but with the anti-doping organization.

However, Cyborg challenged Holm and asked that the two do the same number of tests until the end of the year, when they will probably face each other for the Brazilian's featherweight title.
“Holly stated on her social media that she was tested once more than me in 2017. The numbers are confusing, however, as she fought three times in the year to my only fight once. She also forgot to say that only one test was in the last trimester. I don't see USADA as a bad thing. In fact, I support us spending the entire year being tested like Olympic athletes! Some critics point out that my failure from six years ago is a reason to be tested more. But I believe the reputation of her gym and the opportunity to prove ourselves clean is justification for us to be tested the same number of times as we prepare to fight each other. That way she won’t have any excuses when I beat her up!”, declared Cris, speaking in more depth about the positive tests at Jackson’s MMA, Holly’s gym:
“Has any other team failed doping more than Jackson-Wink MMA? Last year, the technician at Holly holm did everything to postpone my fight because of a contaminated sample, even though USADA itself declared me clean to fight, with therapeutic use of the substance spironolactone, after a detailed report from independent doctors. Winklejohn stated that he wanted to see me tested for a year before the fight. I don't know if he thinks the same way alistair overeem, Jon Jones, Shane carwin, Ali Bagautinov, Nate Marquadt, Frank mir and several other fighters caught doping who train with him in New Mexico. The good news is that since that interview, I have completed the “test year” without incident. I fully support USADA and believe I have proven to my fans that I have learned from the mistake I made six years ago. I grew up as an athlete. So that there is no confusion, I want you to Holly holm be tested the same number of times as me from 01/10/2017 to 30/12/2017,” said the Brazilian.
The duel between Cyborg and Holm has not yet been made official, but rumors suggest that it will take place at UFC 219, on December 30th, in an event that marks the end of the Ultimate calendar in 2017.
