Brazilian Marlon Sandro entered the Bellator Octagon on Saturday night, ready to win the organization's featherweight GP title. But despite controlling the duel against the North American Pat Curran during the first round, the Brazilian athlete was surprised at the end of the second round with a high kick and ended up knocked out.

With the triumph, Pat wins the under-66kg GP title and pockets a prize of US$100. Furthermore, the American will have the opportunity to fight for the Bellator featherweight belt, against the winner of the fight between the current champion, Joe Warren, and the Brazilian, Patrick Pitbull, who won the previous edition of the GP.

Renê Nazaré wins on the preliminary card
If Marlon was unlucky on the preliminary card, the other Brazilian on the fight program put on a show. Rene Nazare faced Juan Barrantes and gave his opponent no chance. With an efficient striking game, the Brazilian athlete punished the American in the stand-up fight and kept the punishment on the ground. After two rounds of a lot of pressure, Barrantes' eye was quite swollen and the doctors prevented the athlete from returning for the third round. With the triumph, Renê remains undefeated in MMA with 10 victories.
