In one of his first fights in the UFC, Conor McGregor faced and won Max Holloway in 2014. Since then, the Hawaiian has not lost again, achieving 10 consecutive victories, including a triumph over José Aldo, which guaranteed him the linear featherweight title. The follow-up to “Blessed” impressed the Irishman and McGregor declared he was open to a rematch between the two at lightweight, in an interview with fans in Glasgow.

Conor said he liked the way Holloway digested the setback, stayed focused and moved forward, reinventing himself and achieving important triumphs. McGregor also praised other victims, such as Eddie Alvarez and Dustin poirier, both defeated by knockout.

“I made that boy (Holloway) my son. But I'm not mad at him. He achieved a great feat. He climbed the ladder and won the featherweight title. You see the fights, as well as the audience, and you see them go out there and have great fights, whether they win or lose, and you see how they deal with it and move on. He lost to me, but he stayed focused. The same happened with Poirier, another guy who kept his mind alert and kept moving forward. Alvarez also took the defeat well. You lose and win in this game. Get back on the bike, study the game, work harder and correct your mistakes. Move on”, declared Conor, also talking about a possible rematch with Holloway.

“I saw Holloway move on. She got there and beat Aldo. I won both so this is difficult for me (…) If he wants to move up to lightweight, we can deal with that. It’s a new option, but it’s below others,” he said.
