More than seven months after signing with Bellator, bantamweight Michael McDonald finally has an official date to debut with the organization. Still without his opponent being revealed, the former UFC fighter will perform for the first time in his new home on December 15th, in Newcastle, England, in edition 190. McDonald, 26 years old, fought in Ultimate from 2011 to 2016, having nine fights, with six wins and three losses. In 2013, after scoring four consecutive victories, he received the opportunity to compete for the interim bantamweight belt against Renan Barao, but was finished in the fourth round. Since then, Mayday, as he is known, suffered from injuries and only played four more times, accumulating two positive results and two negative results. In his most recent fight, he was knocked out by John Lineker, in July 2016. In total, he has a record with 17 victories and four setbacks.
In addition to McDonald, Bellator's bantamweight division features names like the Brazilian and current champion Dudu Dantas, Leandro Higo, Marcos Galvão, Darrion Caldwell and Joe Warren.
