Declared disaffection of Junior Gypsy, Fabricio Werdum ruled out judging or provoking the opponent, who recently was caught in an anti-doping test carried out by USADA (US Anti-Doping Agency) and automatically removed from UFC 215, an event in which he would face Francis Ngannou. Although he admits that he does not have a good relationship with Cigano, the gaucho, who regretted what happened, states that he has no reason to criticize his compatriot, highlighting that it is necessary to wait for the tests to be confirmed.

“I think it's a shame that this happened, but we have to wait for the second test. We don't understand each other because we fought in the past, but there's no reason to say anything bad about him. This can happen to anyone, without knowing how to take something that is prohibited. I have no right to say anything about this case. We have to wait for the second test to find out if he really caught something. If he really took something, he has to pay for it without fighting for a while, which is a shame,” he declared, in an interview with the 'MMA Fighting' website.

It is not new that Werdum complains about the rigidity in the exams carried out by USADA. The former heavyweight champion claims that fighters often unknowingly take 'common' supplements, but which are prohibited by the Agency. According to him, the implemented laws should be reviewed and changed.

“I think this test is very, very strict. It didn't need to be that much. It's one thing to take something to recover faster... I'm not saying steroids, no. What I say is that USADA is too much sometimes. Is very. I didn't need it that much. This test is stricter than the Olympics. I've never seen this before. I think it could be better. There are things you could take that wouldn't affect your performance, but you would recover faster. We train very hard. (…) Anyone is subject to going through this. Sometimes it's not even something you take knowing it's illegal, but unknowingly you take something in your supplement. It's tough. We have to call and check everything you take all the time, anything you eat or any supplements you take. This can happen to anyone”, he concluded.
