With the fight against Floyd Mayweather in the books, Conor McGregor was once again the target of Ultimate's rivals. The Notório has not yet responded to the European's post, but it seems that, if it depends on the Irishman's wishes, a trilogy with Nate diaz It could be your next challenge. The winner of Tony Ferguson e Kevin Lee, who will face each other at UFC 216, in October, for the interim lightweight belt, could also appear in the champion's path.
McGregor hasn't even put his belt on the line yet: he hasn't played in the UFC since November 2016, when he won the lightweight title by knocking out Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205. In the company since 2013, he has nine wins and just one loss at home, including the historic 13-second knockout in José Aldo, which earned him the featherweight title.
Khabib, in turn, has always been considered one of the top names in the under-70kg division, but numerous injuries slowed the Russian's path. He was scheduled to fight for the interim belt against Ferguson in March this year, but left the fight on the day of the weigh-in. With an incredible 24-0 record in MMA, Nurmagomedov won eight fights in the UFC, the last of which against Michael Johnson, curiously on the same date as Conor's last duel, last November.
