At straw weight Rose namajunas was one of the personalities chosen by the North American magazine “Women's Health” to be part of a campaign aimed at female empowerment. The UFC fighter posed nude for the publication and wrote a text about her body, the marks of her fights and their meaning for her life as a woman. The American should be the next challenger for the belt in her category.

To the magazine, she explained a little more about her motivation for participating in the campaign. Namajunas commented that she felt compelled to show that her body's imperfections are part of her history as a fighter.
“My naked body…is the story of my life. There are many things around us that we cannot control, but my body, my mind and my soul are the only things I can control. All the scars and bumps, all the muscles – they are the story of everything I have done so far. And it's not just my story. It's the story of my ancestors, those who came before me and gave me this dough to shape. The middle finger on one of my hands broke during one of the most competitive fights of my career. And it looks like a bloated turkey to this day. There's a piece of bone in there and it's a reminder that this fight contributed to me having the life I have today, with a beautiful house and a beautiful life. It’s ugly, but it’s a reminder”, commented the fighter.
