The former champion Jon Jones has not hidden his anger towards his arch-rival Daniel Cormier, current owner of the light heavyweight belt. A few days before the rematch between the two, “Bones” remembered DC's reaction after defeating him in the first fight between the two, which took place at UFC 182, in January 2015. At the time, Cormier was caught by UFC cameras crying in the locker room and being comforted by Cain Velazquez, former heavyweight champion.

In an interview with “Fox Sports”, Jones sent a message to his enemy, who was also present on the program, saying that he intends to make him cry again after the two face each other this Saturday (29), at UFC 214. After DC said that Jones tried to get a job as a commentator, but he didn't pass the tests because he was weak, the former champion went after him with heavy provocations.

“I'll tell you what I'm not weak at. Do you know what happened. We all saw you crying on the shoulders of Cain Velazquez. Want to know something? I don’t want the commentator’s job, I just want to make him cry backstage again,” said Jones.

After the first fight between the two, the then light heavyweight champion was responsible for a traffic accident with a pregnant woman in the other case while he was under the influence of drugs. As a result, the UFC took away his belt, which came into dispute between Cormier and Anthony Johnson at UFC 187. DC submitted “Rumble” on that occasion and defended his belt on two occasions, in addition to facing and winning Anderson Silva in a fight that wasn't worth the title. Jones, meanwhile, has only had one fight since then, winning Ovince St Preux in March last year.
