Lightweight Eddie Alvarez was the last fighter to face Conor McGregor, still in MMA. At the historic UFC 205 in November last year, he lost his belt to the Irishman in the main fight and guarantees that his tormentor can repeat that performance against Floyd Mayweather. The two will face each other in a superfight on August 26th and Alvarez guarantees that “The Notorious” has the power to knock out the American.

In an interview with the “5ive Rounds” podcast, the former champion says that McGregor's best chances come down to the first four rounds and called people who don't see how the Irishman can beat Mayweather “idiots”.

“Conor has around four rounds to guarantee this victory. In these first four rounds, if you don't think McGregor can knock out Mayweather, then you're an idiot. But if Conor doesn't knock him out in the first four rounds, then I think it becomes a one-man fight. Mayweather's technique is enough to make it look like he's the only one fighting. But Conor has a real chance of knocking him out first”, declared the “Underground King”.

After the crushing defeat to McGregor, Alvarez returned to the octagon at UFC 211, in May this year, when his duel against Dustin poirier ended without result. The former champion was losing the fight, but was recovering when he ended up throwing illegal knees to his opponent's face, leaving Poirier unable to continue fighting.
