Alexandre Pequeno signs with WEC

Brazilian Alexandre Pequeno has a new home. After success in Japan where he was champion in Shooto and with stints in K-1 Heros, the “King of the Guillotine” signed a contract with the WEC organization linked to the UFC.

“My fights are closed, I have already signed a contract and now I have five fights scheduled in the WEC, in a period of 12 months. It debuts in June and the first fight should be against Nick Agallar, a very experienced fighter. He measures 1,80m, has a much larger wingspan than mine and fights in the 85kg category. It will go down to 65kg, I don't know how, but it will. If I win, I should fight for the belt against the Urijah faber”, commented the wrestling representative.

Another important fact highlighted by Pequeno is being able to return to fight in the under-65kg category, the weight that made him famous in MMA.

PUBLICITY:

“I'm going to fight at my weight. Generally, in my training, I usually weigh 67kg, but when I start running and training three times a day, I dry out. I felt very disadvantaged when I fought at 70kg, because I faced much stronger fighters. Now I’m going to try to do the same thing in the United States that I did in Shooto and make my guillotine even more famous,” he said in an interview with PDL.
