UFC president Dana White admitted that he does not have a good relationship with the Brazilian Chris Cyborg. And he declared that he is working to improve this, even though the two parties have exchanged several criticisms through social media in recent months.

After Cyborg revealed that she would not be able to make the appropriate weight cut for featherweight in a few weeks and therefore refused to fight for the featherweight belt at UFC 208, White questioned the Brazilian's “desire” and scheduled a duel between Holly holm e Germaine DeRandamie by title. Cris didn't like being excluded from the first fight in the new division.
“Indeed, we made some mistakes regarding Chris Cyborg. It hasn't been easy for her here at UFC so far. She was not happy with some of the things that were said and done. And to be honest with you, she's right. So, the least we can do is fix this whole thing and give her a fight for the title”, declared Dana, in an interview with the North American website MMA Junkie, admitting that he is excited for the Brazilian's duel with Tonya Evinger, at UFC 214. .
“We took Megan anderson from Invicta to face her, but Anderson will not be able to fight due to some personal problems. Evinger is a fighter who has been active for a long time. She is tough, resilient. I'm looking for a woman who can actually go in there and go toe-to-toe with Cyborg. And I think Tonya is that woman. Let’s see,” she declared.
The relationship between the UFC and the featherweight division really hasn't been the best, even before the Brazilian signed with the promotion. Event commentator, Joe Rogan, even compared the former Invicta champion to a man and Dana White himself made fun of Cris' appearance.
