Bellator 183 will feature Patricky Pitbull x Henderson and debut of Roy Nelson

Pitbull and Ben Henderson make the main event, while Nelson faces Ayala in the second most important attraction

The Bellator 183 card, which will be held on September 23, in San Jose (USA), already has two main fights defined, and both will feature former UFC fighters. In the main event, Benson Henderson squares off with the Brazilian Patricky Pitbull, in a duel valid for the lightweight category (up to 70kg), while the heavyweight Roy Nelson makes his debut in the organization against Javy Ayala, in the second most important attraction of the show.

Former UFC lightweight champion, Henderson joined the organization in February 2016 with the status of future champion, due to his success in Ultimate. However, Ben still failed to perform as expected in the circular cage. He debuted competing for the welterweight belt (up to 77kg) against Andrei Koreshkov, but was completely dominated by the Russian. Afterwards, he won Patrick Pitbull after the Brazilian injured his foot and was defeated by Michael chandler in a new title fight, this time in the lightweight division. In total, Henderson has 24 positive results and seven negative results as a professional.

Pitbull, in turn, last acted in February of this year, when he delivered a devastating knockout to Josh thomson, another ex-UFC. In Bellator since 2013, the Brazilian has already had 11 fights in the company, recording seven wins and four losses. He even challenged for the category belt in 2016, but was brutally knocked out by Michael chandler. In his record, Patricky has 17 triumphs and eight setbacks.

Champion of the 10th season of The Ultimate Fighter, aged 40, left the UFC with a record of nine wins and nine losses. Among the most notable triumphs are the knockouts over Rodrigo Minotauro, Antonio Pezão and Mirko Cro Cop. Nelson also faced and was defeated by former champions junior gypsy e Fabricio Werdum, in addition to losing to the current owner of the heavyweight belt, Stipe Miocic.

PUBLICITY:

Ayala, 12 years younger, already has seven fights in Bellator, having won five and lost two. He has not performed since November 2016, when he surprised by knocking out Sergei Kharitonov in just 16 seconds. His record is 10-5.
