Ballengee helped Nate diaz to negotiate their contracts with Ultimate for their last four fights – the two duels against Conor McGregor and the struggles against Michael Johnson e Rafael Dos Anjos. And, according to the lawsuit, the company did not receive the amount agreed with the fighter for performing his service. Diaz also allegedly convinced another UFC athlete, Leslie Smith, to unilaterally terminate her contract with the company and not pay the due fees.

The American earned US$500 and US$2 million at UFC 196 and UFC 202, respectively. This is based on salaries published by the UFC, which do not take into account possible bonuses, a common practice in Ultimate. Meanwhile, Diaz still has no fight scheduled, and has already declared that he will only fight in the UFC again if he is against Conor McGregor, who is temporarily out of MMA, preparing for his boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather.
