In an interview with the North American program “The MMA Hour”, Roddy admitted that almost no one thinks this will happen, but he is confident in his pupil's ability to adapt to different types of scenarios within a fight. The coach says McGregor will take a round or two to analyze Mayweather's game before knocking him out.

“I think he will be able to knock out Mayweather. It's going to take a few rounds, and I know my phone is going to blow up after this, but hey, Conor does exactly this kind of thing. He does these exceptional things regularly. If he says he’s going to go in to knock him out, he’s going to knock him out”, commented Roddy, refusing to go into details of the strategy and why he trusted Conor.

“I don't want to go into more detail about our training and what we're looking to do against Mayweather, but I will say that no one is perfect. He is unbelievable defensively, but everyone has holes, everyone makes mistakes, everyone has tendencies and practices that they repeat,” he declared.
