Considered by many to be the greatest fighter in MMA history, Jon Jones he dispensed with modesty when analyzing his history in the UFC. With 16 wins and just one loss – by disqualification – the former light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg), who defended his belt on eight occasions, ensured that no other fighter achieved feats as impressive as his.

“I wasn't very dominant in my last fight (against Ovince St-Preux), it was a unanimous decision (victory), but it was fun. I think I am, along with Demetrious Johnson, the best fighter in the UFC. I'm happy for people who are successful, like Conor McGregor, Demetrious Johnson, Ronda Rousey, but, while I'm happy for them, I still believe that none of them reached the level I achieved in the organization. It's a fact. If in the future we ask ourselves who was the best in this sport, I would say that I will be close to being considered the best”, said the fighter, in a press conference after last Friday's fights (12).

Jones also spoke about the new 'wave' of MMA fighters who are looking to venture into boxing. The best example is the Irish Conor McGregor, who has his name speculated in a possible battle against Floyd Mayweather. For 'Bones', the mix between the two disciplines could be good for the sport, attracting more audience and visibility.

“I think it’s great for (MMA) fighters to challenge boxing fighters. It's great for both sports, it keeps both sports relevant, it keeps people talking. It brings the two communities of these sports together, it's great to reach more fans and keep people excited about combat sports. There’s no one in particular I’d like to challenge, but I’d be up for a boxing fight against a big name,” he concluded.
