The rivalry between Jon Jones e Daniel Cormier does not appear to show signs of weakening. The two are always exchanging provocations on social media and the former champion did not like a recent interview by “DC”, who said that fans like “Bones” more, as he is imperfect and keeps making mistakes, while fans boo him for being a normal person, who has no controversies in his personal life.

“People don’t want to be told, “I’m good, so you should root for me.” Jon Jones He's a guy who made a lot of mistakes and, perhaps, people identify with him more because of that. They say, “Forget this good guy Daniel Cormier, your children and your family. I prefer the guy who parties and has car accidents,” lamented Cormier, in an interview with the “Edge and Christian” podcast.

Through his personal Twitter, Jon Jones was irritated by the current light heavyweight champion's speech and sent an unusual and ironic message to the fans, asking them to praise Cormier.

“Can anyone come to Daniel Cormier, give him a pat on the back, and tell him he's a really good guy so we can move on from this?" Jones quipped.

The two have been rivals since before the first time they faced each other. In a press conference before UFC 178, the two fought during the confrontation, but the first duel only took place months later, at UFC 182. At the time, Jon Jones won by unanimous decision, keeping his belt. However, problems outside the octagon caused Ultimate to strip “Bones” of the title. Daniel Cormier won Anthony Johnson in contention for the vacant title and became the new champion, keeping the belt to this day. The two are expected to rematch soon, possibly at UFC 214.
