Even with just two consecutive victories, over Ovince St Preux e Corey anderson, Jimi Manuwa already has his name speculated as a possible alternative to Jon Jones to compete for the light heavyweight title. The Englishman himself added fuel to the fire by being surprised by the champion Daniel Cormier after UFC 210. For the Brazilian Glover Teixeira, one of the main names in the category, Manuwa’s “morals” in the division are not fair.

Former challenger for the 93 kg belt, Glover argues that “Poster Boy” does not deserve to be close to a title fight as he has not yet beaten any fighter at the top of the division – even though OSP was coming off an interim title fight when he lost for Manuwa at UFC 204, in October last year.

“Jimi Manuwa is not yet qualified to fight for the belt. He hasn't beaten any top fighter yet. I think he has to beat a guy who is among the top guys before he can think about fighting for the title. Maybe two or three top guys. Jimi Manuwa is down here, in my opinion”, commented the Brazilian, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Fighting”.

While he waits for events to unfold in the category, Glover already has his next fight scheduled. Coming off a decision victory over Jared Cannonier at UFC 208, the Brazilian will face Alexander Gustafson, in May, in the main fight of UFC Stockholm.
