The UFC didn't want to wait for Ronaldo Jacare was left without ties to the organization and rushed the renewal of his contract, which was made official this Friday (14). Jaca's renewal goes against what the athlete's own manager said this week. Gilberto Faria said that the Brazilian intended to hear proposals from other organizations before deciding to renew with Ultimate, even though he said that his client's intention was to remain in the UFC. It is likely that Faria's statements turned on a yellow light in the UFC, which tried to rush a new bond with Jacaré, number 3 in the UFC middleweight ranking.
Jacaré debuted in Ultimate in 2013, after becoming Strikeforce champion. The Brazilian has eight fights in the company, with seven wins and just one loss, to Yoel romero, at UFC 194. On SUPER FIGHTS, Jaca said that, if he beats Whittaker, will ask for a rematch with the Cuban or Luke Rockhold, who beat him in Strikeforce.
