UFC 210 weigh-in has boos for the champion and tense Brazilians

The UFC 210 weigh-in ceremony, which took place this Friday (7), on the eve of the event, had a little bit of everything: tense looks, boos for stars and evenuta that had been canceled being reintroduced into the show.

In the main fight, the champion Daniel Cormier was heavily booed, while the challenger Anthony Johnson received applause. The dislike of DC by Buffalo (USA) fans is due to the fact that the city is close to Ithaca, where former champion and Cormier's arch-rival Jon Jones was raised.

After the two were welcomed and came face to face, the challenger seemed to give the champion one last poke by thanking the people of Buffalo for their hospitality and guaranteeing that he would have a different fight than the first meeting between the two. Cormier preferred to ignore the boos and said he respected his next opponent, but that nothing would be different from the first fight, when the champion submitted his challenger, at UFC 187, in May 2015.

Before the tense confrontation between champion and challenger, the UFC surprised everyone and called Pearl Gonzalez and Cynthia calvillo to weigh in on the public. The fight between the two, valid for strawweight, had been officially canceled due to the recent silicone implants in Gonzalez's breasts, which is prohibited by the New York Athletic Commission. Shortly before the weigh-in, however, the organization announced that the fighter had been released.

The only Brazilians at the event, Thiago Pitbull e charles do brox had the two most tense moments at the weigh-in. The first, returning to welterweight, came face to face with Patrick Côté and seemed irritated by the Canadian's previous provocations. Do Bronx maintained his posture when faced by Will Brooks. The two fights open the main portion of this Saturday's event (8).
