Bellator 177, which will be held on April 14, in Budapest, Hungary, will feature a 100% Brazilian title fight in the main fight. The bantamweight champion Dudu Dantas will face the newcomer Leandro Higo, who replaces the injured Darrion Caldwel, initially cast in the show. The information was released by the website 'MMA Fighting' (USA) and confirmed by sources close to the SUPER FIGHTS.

This will be Dudu's second belt defense. After regaining the belt by defeating compatriot Marcos ”Loro” Galvão by unanimous decision at Bellator 156, in June last year, he rematched former champion Joe Warren, at Bellator 166, last December, and won by majority decision, remaining with the strap. Previously, the 28-year-old from Rio de Janeiro had become division champion for the first time in 2012, when he submitted former UFC fighter Zach Makovsky. He made two title defenses, but was dethroned by Warren himself, his last victim, at Bellator 128, in 2014.
Higo, in turn, will make his Bellator debut. A participant in TUF Brasil 4, he arrives at the organization with the status of current LFA champion, after beating Steven Peterson by unanimous decision in January this year. At 28 years old, Leandro, who is a training partner with brothers Patrício and Patrick Pitbull, has been undefeated for five years, with eight consecutive victories. In total, he already has 17 triumphs and only two setbacks as a professional.
In addition to the fight between Dantas and Caldwell, Bellator will also hold an edition of Bellator Kickboxing, which will have Zoltan Laszak and Kharim Ghajji competing for the welterweight title, which currently belongs to Laszak.
