Relentless, withering, overwhelming. Any of these three words can be used to define the performances of Michel Trator and Paulo borrachinha this Saturday (11), on the UFC Fortaleza preliminary card. Aggressive from the first seconds of their respective fights, the Brazilians didn't give Josh Burkman and Garreth McLellan a chance, respectively, and came out with the victory in the first round.

Michel Trator runs over Josh Burkman in the first round

Without letting Josh Burkman breathe, Michel Tratou submitted his rival with a beautiful north-south choke at 1m42s of R1, after almost knocking him out in the first minute. In total, there were 34 blows fired by Michel, compared to just one from Josh. This was Trator's fourth consecutive victory in the lightweight division (6-2 in the UFC), which for the first time ended a fight in the organization before 15 minutes. Following the defeat, Burkman announced his retirement from MMA.

Trator started the fight with everything: in the first seconds of the fight, he blitzed Burkman and threw a series of blows at his rival, who fell, and only defended himself, meaning that the fight was almost interrupted. After the American swept, Trator went to the north-south position and secured a tight choke, forcing Burkman to give him three taps.

With the victory, Lee should enter the top 15 ranking, as massaranduba, his new victim, is 11th on the list.

In the confrontation between two world jiu-jitsu champions, it brought cold water to the fans, who didn't see the fight go to the ground for even a second. In a warm standing dispute, better for Serginho Moraes, who defeated his compatriot Davi ramos by unanimous decision of the judges (triple 30×27). This is Serginho's sixth victory in Ultimate, while Ramos, who was debuting in the franchise, suffered his second defeat in his career.

The fight started with the two fighters studying each other a lot in the center of the octagon, with some blows thrown by both. Serginho hit a good direct shot at Davi, who responded with a strong cross. The two returned to the center of the cage, and Moraes relied on front kicks, without much effectiveness. Ramos started to surround his compatriot, but without much action, causing boos from the crowd. The confrontation remained warm until the horn sounded.

Davi came back pressing, betting on a heavy hand. Even in the first minute, the audience once again booed the athletes, who produced little inside the octagon. Ramos landed a good punch on Serginho's waistline, but there was no follow-up. Serginho started to control the octagon, but remained ineffective, with just a few blows thrown at his opponent's guard, who tried to respond in kind. At halftime, a lot of booing.

The scenario of the decisive round was the same as the previous ones: a lot of study, little action and a lot of boos from the public. The boos, however, were not enough to excite the fighters, who continued at a slow pace for around three minutes. As they studied each other in the center of the octagon, the booing increased. In the final 60 seconds, Serginho tried to land a direct hit on Ramos, who responded with a punch to the waistline. After the final gong rings, more you go.

Coming off four consecutive victories, Rani Yaya his streak of good results was interrupted by Joe Soto, who got the better of the fourth fight of the night and won by unanimous decision from the judges (29×28, 29×27, 29×27). After a good start to the fight, the Brazilian ended up 'dying in the gas' and was controlled in the next two rounds. This was the third consecutive victory for Soto, who should enter the top 15 bantamweights.

Rani started surprising on the feet, landing good combinations on Soto. The fight became more studied, but the Brazilian continued to attack more, while Joe tried to respond with the counterattack. Yahya attempted the takedown, without success. In the center of the octagon, the two began to exchange blows in a frank, but very effective manner. In the final minute, Rani went for his rival's legs in search of a takedown, but was surprised and fell in a fair guillotine choke. Calmly, the Brazilian managed to escape and finished the round on top.

Right at the beginning of the second round, an accidental headbutt from Rani opened a deep cut on Soto's eyebrow, forcing the central referee to stop for medical attention. With the fight back, Yahya continued to surprise on the feet, while Soto looked for submissions. With the American winning a lot, the fight continued lively on the feet, with both going for frank exchanges. In the final seconds, Rani attempted a takedown, but fell underneath.

Visibly physically exhausted, Yahya insisted on takedowns, but Soto, as in previous rounds, defended himself efficiently and fell on top of the Brazilian. From below, Rani showed little reaction, while Joe swept in search of a better position to finish. The confrontation remained lukewarm, to the irritation of the audience, who booed a few times. With 50 seconds left, the fight was back on its feet, but, tired, the two did little until the end of the fight.

It wasn't this time that Ron Jason He won again in the octagon. In the second fight of the night, the TUF Brasil 1 champion was no match for the young man Jeremy kennedy and ended up being defeated in a unanimous decision by the judges (29×28, 29×28, 29×27). The defeat leaves the Brazilian featherweight in a complicated situation in the organization, as this was the fourth setback suffered by the Brazilian in the last four fights, in addition to a No Contest, after being caught in an anti-doping test. Kennedy, in turn, maintained his 100% success rate as a professional and achieved his tenth triumph, his second in Ultimate.

The fight began with a lot of study on both sides, with Kennedy taking more of the initiative. Jason started to surround his rival against the fence and connected with a good right cross, but the best came next: the Brazilian applied a beautiful flying knee, leading to Kennedy being knocked down. The Canadian, however, recovered well and stayed on his feet, pressing the Brazilian against the fence and taking him down. Jason got up, but was knocked down again. Inside his opponent's guard, Jeremy continued trying to strike until the end of the round.

The second started much more aggressive than the first, with both fighters starting to strike. In an identical manner to the first round, Rony landed another flying knee on Kennedy, who fell again. Jason continued to strike from the top, but the Canadian swept and brought the Brazilian into guard. The TUF Brazil 1 champion continued working on top, but without much effectiveness. With the fight lukewarm, the central judge ordered both men to get up. Standing up, Jeremy landed an illegal blow to Jason's 'low countries', which he immediately felt and went to the ground, forcing the fight to be stopped. The fight was restarted, but it only lasted 12 seconds before the horn sounded.

Jason returned to the decisive round provoking his rival, putting both hands behind his back, remembering what Conor McGregor did against Eddie Alvarez. Kennedy took down the Brazilian, who managed to get up afterwards. After a few moments of study, another takedown was applied by the Canadian, who fell into Jason's guard, but remained active and hitting from above. Jason, however, took advantage of an opening and tried to lock in an armbar, without success. The two returned to their feet, but for a short time, as Kennedy took the fight to the ground again, remaining there until the end of regulation time.

Paulo Borracha couldn't have a better UFC debut. Acting for the first time in the organization, the middleweight took no notice of Garreth McLellan and knocked out his rival at 1:17 of the first round. This was the Brazilian's ninth victory as a professional, who remains undefeated with 100% success rate. McLellan, on the other hand, suffered his fourth defeat in five fights and is unlikely to continue with the company.

Borrachinha started by pressing McLellan against the cage and landing a good high kick. He continued hunting his rival in the octagon and connected with a strong right elbow, which rocked Garreth. Without giving his opponent time to breathe, the Brazilian started a blitz and delivered a barrage of blows, which knocked McLellan down. On the ground, it only took a few more blows before the judge declared the debutant's victory.
