Away from the UFC for almost four years, Georges St.Pierre is preparing to fight again. His return will be against the champion Michael Bisping, in a duel valid for the middleweight belt (up to 84kg), with no date or location yet defined. Asked about his opponent's 'talkative' style, the Canadian ruled out adopting a similar position, highlighting that this does not interfere during the confrontation.

“The fight is not won by whoever is tougher, or with small talk, but by whoever is the best. Everyone knows who's here, so I'm going to focus on what's important. It's okay to put up with Bisping for more than four months, I'll put up with it. I will do what needs to be done”, declared GSP, in an interview with the website 'Sportv'.

Former dominant welterweight champion (up to 77 kg), GSP admits that returning to Ultimate already in a title fight was a “thunderous” way to attract attention and, as a bonus, test himself inside the cage.

“I'm no longer the champion, I no longer have the belt, I've been away for a long time. It's a new challenge, I've never done this before, my size is a welterweight. I want to come back with a bang, and the guy at the top is Michael Bisping, I want to beat him”, declared the fighter.

Despite the long time without stepping into the octagon, GSP guaranteed that his physical form will not be a problem, and that he is at the peak of his career, precisely because he is more experienced.

“I've been training, I've never been out of shape, I haven't sat on the couch doing nothing, I always keep up to date with my technique, to improve and become more technical. I believe I am at the peak of my career, at the top physically, emotionally and mentally. Physics and knowledge go hand in hand,” he concluded.

At 35 years old, St. Pierre hasn't fought since November 2013, when he crashed John hendricks and shortly thereafter announced his indefinite retirement from MMA. In total, he has a professional record of 25 wins and two losses. In the UFC, he has 20 triumphs and two setbacks, with nine title defenses in the welterweight category.
