The 2008 Taekwondo National Team defined

The last athletes who will join the National Tae Kwon Do Team were defined on February 10th, which already includes the athletes guaranteed at the Beijing Olympics, Marcio Wenceslau, Débora Nunes and Natália Falavigna, and the medalists from the Pan-American Games , Diogo Silva and Leonardo dos Santos. The Brazilian Tae Kwon Do Confederation also revealed that it will allocate 40% of the funds it receives from the Piva Law to the remuneration of athletes on the permanent team this year, for a total of R$170. The weight holders who will compete in Beijing will receive R$1,5 and each of the reserves R$1 from March onwards.

Part of the reserve team, formed in the National Selective held at the Army's Higher School of Physical Education, in Rio de Janeiro, will compete in the Pan-American Championship, which will take place in October in Puerto Rico. “Since I started Taekwondo, my dream was to reach the Brazilian team. I have always looked up to Márcio Wenceslau's fighting style and being his reserve and collaborating in his preparation for the Olympics is a great honor”, ​​says Cristiano Valeriano, winner of the selection in the -57kg category.
