The rivalry between Fabricio Werdum e Junior Gypsy continues to rise. After the Santa Catarina native joked that the Gaucho is confused and no longer intends to give up a rematch, “Vai Cavalo” responded by reaffirming his desire to face Cigano again, who will compete for the heavyweight belt against Stipe Miocic at UFC 211 in May. According to Werdum, he would 'put an end' to his rival's loudmouth style.

“I don’t have any preference. I lost to both of them and I would love to get back. Whether against Miocic or against Cigano, my goal is the belt, no matter who it is against. Now, if it's against Cigano, that's better because I'll stop him from continuing to want to be the Conor McGregor Brazilian. The way he's been talking lately isn't cool, it doesn't suit him. I don't know him, but that McGregor look doesn't look good on him. To be honest, it's really ridiculous,” Werdum told the website "Portal do Vale Tudo”.

Werdum also commented on Cigano's statements, who accused him of 'running away' on three occasions from a duel between them. For the former champion, there is no such thing as 'running' from an opponent.

“Cigano spoke about me, he said that I ran away from him, that I ran... I've been fighting for 20 years and I'm going to run from Cigano... I have to laugh, right? It's something that doesn't make sense. How am I going to be afraid of any fighter? Fighting is what I like to do most. There is no such thing. It's the same when they say that the Cain Velazquez is afraid of me. There is no such thing as fear, otherwise no one would fight,” she concluded.
