The UFC announced a large list of layoffs among its fighter roster. According to its official website, 31 athletes had their names removed from the organization's official records, indicating that they were fired. Among the names are two Brazilians: featherweights Tiago Trator and Fernando Butcher, finalist of TUF Brasil 4.

Trator had four fights in the organization, recording two wins and two losses. His most recent performance was at UFC Albany, in December last year, when he was defeated by Shane burgos. Butcher, in turn, didn't even get to taste victory in the company. After losing the final of TUF Brasil 4 to Glaico Nego França, in August 2015, he was defeated by the experienced Gray Maynard in July last year.

Five of these athletes on the list are still discussing a possible renewal with the organization, after their contracts come to an end: Maximo Blanco, Yves Jabouin, Lorenz Larkin, Takeya Mizugaki and Francisco Rivera. The name of Brock Lesnar, former heavyweight champion, was also removed from the site.
