The fast is over! Without officially winning since August 2012, Anderson Silva got a taste of victory again by defeating Derek Brunson in the second most important fight of UFC 208, held in the early hours of this Saturday (11), in Brooklyn (USA), and felt the taste of victory again after five fights. With a cautious stance, the former middleweight champion prevailed in the judges' unanimous decision (29×28 29×28, 30×27) and once again had reasons to celebrate in the octagon.

“First of all, thank you everyone for being here. Thanks for the support. I am really happy. Thanks! I've been working hard for a long time to fight here. I always put my heart into it, sometimes I have pain in my legs, in my back, sometimes I look for my family and say I'm going to train for three or four months, and now when I come to a fight I come to provide that to everyone and give my best . Sorry, I know I'm too old to fight, that the new guys are very strong, very fast, but I put my heart into it because fighting is my life”, he declared. Anderson Silva.

The two began studying each other in the center of the octagon, showing a lot of respect for each other. After a minute without a single blow, Brunson took the initiative and released a low kick, without major consequences. In the middle of the round, Anderson attempted a reaction and tried a combination, but it was ineffective. The fight went into the clinch and both men threw hard blows, but the Brazilian got out of position. In the final minute, Anderson began to “hunt” his opponent, but was surprised by an uppercut from the American, which took the fight to the ground.

The second round began with the Brazilian taking the initiative, without taking any risks. Silva started to rotate around the octagon, in an attempt to confuse his opponent, who responded with a takedown, but Anderson hit him and got up. In the clinch, Brunson put pressure on the Brazilian, who tried to respond with elbows. The confrontation returned to the middle of the octagon, and then the traditional provocations began: Anderson tried capoeira moves, in an attempt to destabilize his opponent.

Anderson returned to the last round more active, looking for the fight. Brunson attempted the takedown twice, which were well defended by the Brazilian. Confident, “Spider” started to strike more, but was counterattacked in the same meditation. With less than two minutes remaining, Brunson took the Brazilian, who closed his guard, but showed no reaction, a scenario that continued until the end of the round. In the decision, better for the Brazilian who made peace with victory
