Romero refutes Bisping's accusations and provokes: 'He's running away'

Cuban guarantees he didn't cheat and says even the champion's wife and children know he's on the run

Confirmed as a challenger for the middleweight title Michael Bisping, the Cuban Yoel romero he responded to the Englishman's provocations, who accused him of being a cheat. The “Soldier of God” was caught in an out-of-competition anti-doping test, but managed to prove that a supplement he used was contaminated. As a result, he took a haircut of just six months.

Romero said he did nothing wrong and even provoked Bisping, accusing the Ultimate champion of running away from him.

“That’s just Mike. You have to be ashamed of yourself when you know you did something wrong. So, believe me, I sleep peacefully. That's his only argument, the only card he can pull, the only thing he keeps talking about. He's running away. The world knows this, he (Bisping) knows this, his wife and his children know that he is trying to avoid me”, commented the Cuban in an interview with the website The MMA Hour.

After serving a six-month suspension, Romero returned to the octagon at UFC 205 in November last year, knocking out the former champion Chris Weidman with a flying knee. The Cuban has no defeats in the UFC, having achieved eight victories, including triumphs over Lyoto Machida e Ronaldo Jacare, in addition to Weidman. The only setback in Romero's MMA career was in Strikeforce, when he ended up being knocked out by the Brazilian Rafael Feijão.
