Vetoed by the New York Commission, Luis KLB is out of UFC 208

Another Brazilian is off the UFC 208 card, an event that will take place on February 11, in Brooklyn, New York (USA). The New York Athletic Commission removed heavyweight Luis Henrique KLB from the clash against the Pole Marcin tybura, due to myopia correction surgery, carried out in March 2016. Last week, the lightweight Gilbert Durinho was injured and was also removed from the show.

KLB's surgery was performed shortly after his UFC debut, when he was knocked out by Francis Ngannou, in December 2015. At the time, the surgical procedure was performed to correct a high degree of myopia, which required him to wear glasses with thick lenses. It is worth mentioning that the Brazilian fought on two occasions after the episode, in July and November last year, submitting Dmitry Smoliakov and Christian Colombo, respectively. The local commissions – Chicago and São Paulo – did not prevent the fighter from performing.

With KLB's departure, Brazil will now have five representatives at UFC 208: Anderson Silva, Ronaldo Jacare, Glover Teixeira, Wilson reis and Roan Jucão. The main fight of the night will be between Holly holm e Germaine DeRandamie, who will compete for the inaugural women's featherweight belt.
