Mauritius Shogun is another Brazilian who will be part of UFC Fortaleza on March 11th. The Curitiba native faces the North American Gian Villante in a fight that should be part of the main portion of the show. The information is from the North American website “MMA Fighting”.
Shogun is on a two-fight winning streak, but has only fought once a year in the last two years. In 2015, he won Rogério Minotouro in a rematch of an unforgettable duel for Pride; and last year it hit Corey anderson at the historic UFC 198, in his hometown.
Villante, training partner of Chris Weidman, also comes from victory, over the Russian Saparbek Safarov. UFC Fortaleza will feature a middleweight duel between Vitor belfort e Kelvin Gastelum. Edson Barboza x Beneil Dariush and Michel Trator x Josh Burkman are other fights confirmed for the event.
