The UFC on Fox 23 card, which will take place in Denver (USA), on January 28, is starting to take shape. The duel between the middleweights Hector Lombard e Brad Tavares is one of the first fights scheduled for the event, which will also feature the debut of the Brazilian flyweight Alexandre pantoja, who faces Eric Shelton. The clashes were confirmed by the UFC itself.

Hector Lombard, 38 years old, is going through the worst phase of his career. Without officially winning since March 2014, the Cuban was knocked out in his last two clashes: he lost to Neil Magny, in March, and for Dan Henderson, in June. Hired in gold by the UFC in 2012, Lombard has not yet convinced the organization: in

eight fights, four losses, three wins and one no contest.

Brad Tavares, in turn, gained survival in the company after defeating Gaius Monster at UFC 203, in September this year. Before, he suffered a series of three defeats in four fights. At 29 years old, the Hawaiian can be considered an Ultimate veteran. In the organization since 2010, he has had 13 fights, with nine triumphs and four setbacks.
