Suspended by USADA (American Anti-Doping Agency) until October 2017, Lyoto Machida He's already starting to imagine what the middleweight division's scenario will be like when he's ready to fight again. For Lyoto, the division belt will not remain with him for long. Michael Bisping, current champion, as another Brazilian will be crowned next year.
“I think that when I return, Jacaré will be the champion. He has a lot of potential, he deserves a chance. I don't know why he hasn't had a chance yet. But soon he will be the champion. Romero too. Romero is a very strong guy. He is a very explosive fighter, I think he has a chance too”, declared Lyoto, in an interview with “MMA Junkie” radio (USA).
At 38 years old, Machida was suspended for 18 months after the fighter admitted that he used a banned substance and, consequently, failed an anti-doping test administered by the agency. Jacaré, in turn, hasn't fought since May this year, when he knocked out Vitor belfort at UFC 198, in Curitiba. Third in the middleweight rankings, he competes with Yoel romero the position of next challenger in the category.
