Light weight Tony Ferguson was recently praised by Khabib Nurmagomedov, but it seems that the mild tone is not reciprocated on the part of the North American. Number two in the category ranking, El Cucuy, as he is known, did not spare the Russian, 1st on the list, from criticism, and stated that he will not spare his rival in a possible fight between the two.

“All nonsense aside, the guy (Khabib) is a complaining b***h. He can complain all he wants. (…) As I said before, I will not spare him (Nurmagomedov) a beating. He deserves one from my hands. Who else will he fight? He wants to fight for a belt. (Eddie) Alvarez won't fight him. Come on, man. This guy has been running from me for a long time. He's been running from me. His father was the first to say “yes, my son will face him”, and Khabib is going the other way. He's calling Conor a chicken and he's running away from me. I'm calling you chicken. So it's a ripple effect, man. I'm telling you, everyone is afraid of the bogeyman”, said Tony, in an interview with the program 'The MMA Hour' (USA).

Asked why he should be the next challenger to the champion Conor McGregor, Ferguson, who beat names like Rafael dos Anjos, Edson Barboza e Josh thomson, made a point of highlighting his numbers in the organization. According to the fighter, he knows that his opportunity will come soon.

“Instead of people saying, “Hey, you need to fight for the belt,” or “You need to do this, you need to do that,” I’m wagging my finger in the air and I keep moving forward. I'm going to continue doing what I'm doing, which is taking care of my family and finishing training. And this turns into victories and “performance of the night” awards. Now I have what, eight submissions/knockouts in 12 fights? I have nine wins in a row. I'm at what, 22-3? Shit, where's my title shot, man? I’m not complaining or saying anything, because I know it’s coming,” concluded Ferguson.
