Shortly after winning the UFC featherweight and lightweight belts, Conor McGregor floated the possibility of moving up to welterweight and accumulating a third title. However, the last challenger for the under-77 kg division belt warned the Irishman that a new change would not be beneficial for him.

Stephen Thompson believes that McGregor will be small in the welterweight division. The North American states that weight athletes are naturally strong, and used as an example precisely Tyron woodley, current champion.

“To be honest with you, Conor McGregor will be thrown around like a rag doll at welterweight. The weight class is much larger. I didn't expect Tyron to be as strong as he is. He's a stout, small guy, but he's a very strong opponent. If that happens, McGregor will have a lot of work to do against Tyron”, analyzed Thompson, in an interview with the website of the North American broadcaster “FOX Sports”.

Thompson challenged Woodley at UFC 205, the same event where McGregor won the lightweight belt. On that occasion, “Wonderboy” fought a fierce battle with Woodley and drew with the champion. The rematch should be scheduled by the UFC soon.
