Former Russian MMA fighter Aleksander Emelianenko left the prison where he was being held in the city of Voronezh to serve the rest of his sentence with community service.

Aleksander, younger brother of Fedor Emelianenko, considered one of the greatest fighters in history, was arrested in May 2015 for rape. The Russian was accused by his housekeeper at the time, who claimed that the drunk athlete sexually abused her.

Emelianenko, on the other hand, had claimed that the sex was consensual. The Russian court did not accept his version and sentenced the fighter to four years and six months in prison, in addition to a fine of 50 thousand rubles (approximately R$3 thousand). His lawyers filed a request for the final phase of his sentence to be served in freedom, with community service.

Aleksander is 35 years old and has a record of 23 wins and seven losses. In his career, the Russian has fought in events such as PRIDE and M-1 and faced names such as Mirko Cro Cop, Josh Barnett, Sergei Kharitonov and Fabricio Werdum.
