In a message sent to Thompson on Twitter, Woodley wrote: “Great battle! You have earned my respect. See you after I beat the amulet Conor McGregor”, he warned.

Woodley explained that he had a disagreement with McGregor backstage at UFC 205. When he overcame Alvarez to win his second UFC title, McGregor wanted to have two belts to take photos in the Octagon. To do this, the organization asked Woodley to lend his.

“I respect [his achievement], but he said borrowing my belt was a sign of things to come. I’m just accepting the invitation”, commented the North American.

With the achievement, McGregor became the first athlete in history to hold two belts at the same time. He has already had two welterweight fights in the UFC, with one win and one loss against Nate diaz.
